Learn Something New Every Day
Hello! I'm Seelix, a science communicator and cosplayer with 20 years of experience in public education and making costumes.
I focus on creating entertaining and educational panels for all ages that live in the intersections of STEM, cosplay, and nerd culture.
What do I do? (I ask myself this often)
Education
Seelix has spent 20 years as an informal educator in Museums, Nature Centers, Conventions, and Professional Conferences. Their main interest is in presenting multidisciplinary panels that bring together multiple fields that people don't often see as connected. IE, Culture and Engineering; Technology and sewing; or Fictional World Building and AnthropologyPane
Event Planning
Seelix has been on convention committees as a programming lead and volunteer manager for multiple conventions and events. They have experience in event sizes of all sorts, from running programming for 250 person local cons to coordinating volunteers for 70,000 person exhibits.
Social Media
Seelix has been part of Dragon Con's social media team since 2020, and has previously run social media for both geek conventions and professional conferences, focusing on shaping messaging that is welcoming, accessible, and geared towards diversifying attendees and audiences
